Take an enchanting journey into a glittering wonderland with Christmas at Kew at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew.
The popular after-dark Christmas event returns with its mile-long trail through the famous botanic gardens, lit up with more than one million lights.
Get together with family and friends and follow the illuminated path around the gardens. The adventure usually begins with a scenic trail illuminated by hundreds of glowing globes winding through the trees, and an enormous shimmering Sledge Tree made of more than 360 wooden Santa’s sledges.
In 2017, you could also hear the chorus of Singing Trees before arriving at a wonderful glistening lake, where you could witness an underwater display of lights. There was also the chance to discover an ephemeral walkway of giant bubbles, clusters of trees wrapped in ribbons of changing light, a huge weeping beech tree, and an array of luminous petals at the Great Broad Walk Borders, which featured in Christmas at Kew for the first time. The trail usually ends with a spectacular light, music and water display in front of the iconic Palm House.
Little ones could catch a glimpse of Santa and his elves performing panto along the trail, and enjoy a ride on the Victorian carousel and helter skelter.
There’s also usually plenty of delicious Christmas treats and warming winter drinks to be enjoyed in this magical atmosphere that’s guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit.
